Also known as "Ever Red", Dissectum Nigrum is one of the best red cut leaf maples in terms of its beauty and growth and retention of its deep red color. New spring growth has characteristic fine silvery hair covering which makes the new growth appear grey. This soon fades revealing a rich deep red color leaf. Planting in full sun or partial shade alter the length of color retention in summer with shade lengthening the duration. Best color will prevail in more sun, but this means more watering. This tree can reach height of 12-15 feet high. Ever red is great in containers as well as in oriental-style gardens.
