‘Crimson Queen’ is a small pendulous dissectum. As the spring colors unfold this is one of the best trees for deep crimson-purples. During the summer months, ‘Crimson Queen’ does not bronze out and holds its color well. The fall color is a deeper scarlet red. ‘Crimson Queen’ performs the best in filtered light and is not recommended for direct late day sun. This is an excellent small cultivar that reaches around 4-6 feet over time. The small size of Acer palmatum ‘Crimson Queen’ make it an excellent choice for container growing.
