‘Yezo nishiki’ is a great mid-sized upright red. This cultivar leafs out in the early spring with brilliant shades of reds to purples. During the mid-summer months, ‘Yezo nishiki’ has more bronze undertone to the red coloration. In the autumn it lights up with beautiful bright red that continues to intensify late into the season. ‘Yezo nishiki’ is a very old cultivar and is underused in many landscapes. This cultivar can reach 20 feet over time but is slow to reach that height. This is an excellent tree for anyone looking to add a splash of red color to their landscape.
